Parents and students should listen to local radio and TV stations for information if the school needs to be closed due to inclement weather or other circumstances.

The Archdiocese of Washington requires that its schools follow the decisions of the jurisdictions in which they are located. St. Jerome Academy will close or open late based on the decision of the Prince George's County Board of Education.

The current weather advisory can be found on the PGCPS home page, and 
parents can sign up for email and text alerts from PGCPS about weather-related closures or schedule changes through their School Messenger system.

Parents should instruct their students on where
to go if school closes early.

Before & After Care

The before and after program follows the same schedule as the rest of the school. Please also keep in mind that:

• If school closes early, students must be picked up by 4 pm.
• If there is a late opening, the beforecare program will open at 8 am.

NOON Dismissal Days

• Two-Hour Delay: If SJA is scheduled to dismiss at noon and the county declares a two-hour delayed opening, the SJA will dismiss at 3:10 pm instead
• One-Hour Delay: If the county declares a one-hour delay SJA will dismiss at noon.
